Suicide Prevention Advocacy Network (SPAN)

SPAN USA promotes advocacy by raising awareness and creating political will to develop and fund a first-ever National Strategy for Suicide Prevention. The Suicide Prevention Advocacy Network USA is a not-profit 501(C)(3) National organization that links the energy of those bereaved by suicide with the expertise of leaders in science, business, government and public service to achieve the goal of significantly reducing the national rate of suicide by the year 2010.

SPANUSA empowers its volunteers to:

Awareness (educate about the problem)
Affirmation of Life (confirm the value of all human life)
Advocate (actively support a cause) and to

Create Political Will (dedication to modify existing programs) for suicide prevention

SPANUSA was created to give survivors and their supporters the chance to create Political Will and bring suicide prevention to its rightful place in the forefront of the American consciousness.
