Summary of what Tennessee is doing:

These are the things that our state is doing with our limited funding this year:

·         Formed a Suicide Prevention Advisory Council to oversee the implementation of the strategies statewide.

·         In the process of developing a 1-888 Suicide hotline for Tennessee through the Crisis Intervention Center in Nashville, Tennessee

·         In the process of contracting with a community agency to hire a statewide coordinator who will work with the council and regions to implement our strategies across the state

·         We have been able to get suicide prevention on a number of conferences and training agendas and will continue to do this across the state.

·         We are working in conjunction with Tennessee Voices for Children, Inc., in Nashville, Tennessee to apply for a suicide prevention grant through the Center for Mental Health Services.

·         We will continue to look for funding to implement all of Tennessee’s strategies.
